I am a teacher here on the Quinault Indian Reservation. Grew up here, and grew up listening to Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades.” Love the band, love the song, and now I pass it on to the kids that I teach. The kids didn’t buy into the music when I first start playing it, but now they can’t wait to hear the metal screaming out of the speakers. Because of bands like Motorhead, Twisted Sister and other greats, the kids are actually wanting to play real instruments. One of my students is really into his guitar night and day. The one song he wants to try and master is “Ace of Spades.” Can you give him some inspiration or a kick in the butt and play “Ace of Spades?” Keep on melting faces and I’ll keep on teaching the greatness of metal here on the rez. • On Sunday when I get home from church, my wife and I get all of our “Honey Do” list done then around 5 minutes to 12 I open a 32 ounce can of beer and we sit out back and crank the radio up to listen to the House of Hair. This is the only thing I look forward to all week, other than getting laid. By the time your show is over and 3 more cans of beer, I don’t even know what the sermon in church was about, but I always remember the songs you played.
