Where’d the version of “Rock n Roll Party…” that Dee plays on HOH come from originally?
August 24, 2009
Hey BuzzChic,
I’ve been listening to HOH for years and I love the show. But I have a question about one of the songs that Dee plays on HOH, “Rock n Party In The Streets” by Axe. I noticed it’s a longer version and I cannot find it at iTunes. I can, however, find at iTunes a shorter 3 min version that isn’t as good as the one that’s played on HOH.
Where’d the version of “Rock n Roll Party…” that Dee plays on HOH come from originally? Where can I find it? Why isn’t it on the CD version of the original LP, “Offering”?
Hope you can answer my questions. Hope this isn’t a waste of your time.
Sincerely,
David Jokerst
HOH Listener (Listens to WFXN in Mansfield, OH)
Hey David – dude, it’s never a waste of BuzzChic’s time to help out a HOH’er! (Unless she’s too wasted…, ha ha)
The version of the song you hear on the HOH is from Axe’s compilation “20 Years From Home…” and is actually about 4:30. Unfortunately, it is hard to find. Right now, it’s available at Amazon.com as an import.
Here’s the info – make sure you get Volume 1!
Thanks for listening!
xoxo

“Can you name this Song: I’m not sure the name of it, or who sings it, but it goes something like this : “Coulda been the cocaine, the cocaine, coulda been the way you look at me that’s all and we were through…..”

Keirra, we gotcha covered, even though this isn’t on of our regular hair metal bands. It’s an alterna rock band called Cavo, and the song is “Champagne.” The band is out of St. Louis out on the Cruefest and just released an album.

Can More than 1 Family Member enter HOH Contests?
August 6, 2009
From our longtime HOH headbanger fan, Derek R., comes this good question.
Hi, It’s ok if more then (1) family member enters the same contest, as long as they use their own email address, correct?
Thanks, keep rockin, love the HOH!!!!
- Derek
YES! It’s totally fine for more than one family member to enter BUT they all must have their own email address. Thanks for asking so we could make this clear. Rock On, Derek! — BuzzChic
Name that Metal! The BuzzChic Knows!
August 6, 2009
Dear BuzzChic,
hi, there’s a song i’m trying to locate. i don’t know who recorded it, but it was kind of like a tribute to glam metal or something like that. the song mentioned the bands twisted sister, kiss, gnr and the crue i think. any help?
Dave
Hi Dave, we gotcha covered. The song is “American Hair Band,” a parody of Kid Rock’s “American Bad Ass” (both of which incorporate the instrumentals of Metallica’s “Sad But True”) by the band TUFF. It was released in 2001 on the compilation CD The History of Tuff. “American Hair Band” makes references to numerous U.S. bands such as Motley Crüe, Skid Row, Guns N’ Roses, Warrant, Twisted Sister, Poison and KISS and even the non-American bands Def Leppard, Sleeze Beeze, and AC/DC, while at the same time, deriding 1990s grunge and alternative rock.

Hey BuzzChic,
I have a song spinning in my head and need some help finding the artist/title.
A couple of lines I remember are:
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name
And you play the game
Of double love
When she holds you tight
Does it feel alright
If you could help me out I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Chuck Decker Listening to KDKB 93.3 in Phoenix
Chuck! We know this tune well… it’s Vandenberg’s “Burning Heart.”

More Name That Metal!
March 26, 2009
Hey Buzzchic,
I have a metal bashed brain from the 80’s and beyond so I need help with a tune. I used to hear it on Z-Rock out of Texas in the 90’s. All I can remember was it was a ballad with the lyrics ” you will forget me don’t you know….” Any help would be great. I am thinking it was a one hit band along the lines of Crimson Glory. All great bands non the less.
PS your hot, keep up the great work and all the best to HOH and Dee the last bastion of Metal.
All the best
Bob
Well, Bob, it’s a Poison song we think you’re metalhead is rememberin’ - Hope that does it for ya!

POISON
Look What The Cat Dragged In
I Won’t Forget You
Late at night I close my eyes
And think of how things could have been
And when I look back
I remember some words you had said to me
It’s better to have lost at love
Then never to have loved at all
Chorus
I won’t forget you baby
(I won’t forget you)
Even though I should
I won’t forget you baby
(I won’t forget you)
Even though I should, yeah
Sometimes in my head
I can still see pictures of you
And I laugh to myself
When I think of all those crazy things that we used to do
Although miles come between us
Just between you and me
Chorus
I should let you fade away
But that just wouldn’t be me
Oh, baby
Solo
Although miles come between us
Just between you and me
I won’t forget you baby
(I won’t forget you)
Memories slowly fade
I won’t forget you baby
(I won’t forget you)
And all the plans we made
I won’t forget you baby

BuzzChic’s Mailbag – Thanks from a Sammy Winner!
February 11, 2009
BuzzChic is always high on HOH winners – here’s an awesome email we got from Mary, who was one of our winners in the Sammy Hagar Cosmic Universal Fashion CD contest.
Hi Dee and House of Hair
I would like to thank you for the Sammy Hagar CD. It was such a surprise to win. I entered but I never thought I would win with all the entries you get. I received the email newsletter with my name on it and the CD in the mail on the same day. What great timing. This new year has been quite a challenge. We lost both of my husbands parents and we have been in and out of the hospital since the day after Christmas. So the CD really helped to brighten our spirits. We both like Sammy’s music a lot. Thank You so much. You have no idea how much we appreciate it.

Name that tune!
November 4, 2008
From the BuzzChic’s HOH mailbag, comes this letter:
Hello,
My 15 year old son and I listen to your program every Sunday morning on WRIF in Detroit and love it. On last weeks show (Oct 26 at about 40 minutes in) you played an instrumental song that just rocked. Unfortunately I didn’t get the name of it but I think Dee was talking about some girl that requested it.
I would really appreciate it if you could let me know who the artist and song is as the playlist feature is not active on your website.
Thanks very much and keep on rockin!
Juergen D.
Well, Juergen, that’s an easy one for ol’ BC – the tune is Dokken’s “Mr. Scary”! Remember, headbangers, you can always check our Playlists page, they get posted the week after each show airs (hey, we wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise of what Dee’s gonna play by postin’ them early!).
Rock On,
