TMZ.com reports that an engineer named Scott King is claiming that Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee’s upside down drum coaster design was his. He says he came up with the idea in ’91 and Lee took the idea and ran with it for Motley Crue’s 2011 tour. He hasn’t filed suit, but says he will if the band doesn’t pay up. Tommy’s lawyers shot back, insisting King never pitched the concept to Lee, and that King’s rollercoaster model which had tracks all over the stage is nothing like the Tommy’s “drum ring.”
