Dear Dee,
My husband and I just had our first child about eight weeks ago. We listened to the HOH together throughout my pregnancy, so our baby has an innate craving for metal. I want to hear “Enter Sandman” because I’ve always thought it was kind of like a dark lullabye, suitable for a baby named after Vincent Price and Edgar Allan Poe.
We will continue to listen to the HOH, so that someday I may hear my baby say “If it ain’t metal, it’s CRAP!”

What’s New This Week – Dec. 27, 2010

The new year is barely underway and I’m already caking on the mascara, hosing down the hair with Extra Hold Aqua Net and welcoming you with some heavy metal played on 10! Is this a great country or what!? But than again, how else do you tear into a new year?

The House of Hair is ready to give 2011 a pair o’ black eyes with Kiss, Saxon, Whitesnake and the ever-popular “more.” The loudest few hours of your week are on the way, so warn the neighbors and your roommates: old school heavy metal lives forever in the House of Hair…and it’s gonna be loud!

2011 LYNCH MOB tour w George Lynch from Dokken

Grammy nominated guitarist George Lynch reunites with LYNCH MOB for a new 2011 US tour. Ever since 1980 after joining the multi-platinum band DOKKEN to traveling the world over, George never stops rocking. He has over 25+ albums under his belt and can promise this show will not disappoint. Joined on this Lynch Mob tour is original singer Oni Logan and includes bass player Robbie Crane of Ratt. We are pretty sure George can’t leave the stage until he plays at least a few Dokken Songs.

Kansas City promoter Todd Strickland with Front Stage Productions states, “The midwest is really looking forward to this tour. It’s been a few years since Lynch Mob has toured through Kansas City.” Lynch Mob will play Crosstown Station in Kansas City on February 10th, 2011.

Opening tour support; Willie Basse is no stranger to rock and roll. Willie Basse is best known as frontman of the legendary Los Angeles based rock band Black Sheep. Willie Basse is currently working with legendary Led Zeppelin engineer/producer, Andy Johns.

• HOH kicks ass and METAL will always rule. Queensryche’s “Anybody Listening” means a lot to me. I am 48 years old, and last year I lost my job as an electrician…I lost everything, like so many others. In March, I started my own window cleaning and outside cleaning business. I went from one business to fifty businesses and other side work. Please read this to give others hope that they can do something with a chance. What makes me different is, I do all this on foot; last year, they repoed my van. So, just because I do not have a vehicle, don’t mean nuthin’…just do it and I do!

  I’ve been listening to metal for 36 years. This is why I have drive, the motivation to overcome, and willing to be bad-ass in business. Don’t ever give up, never take no for an answer and be the best metalhead you can be. When people pass by and laugh at me for doing windows, I laugh all the way to the bank. This is what metal has done for me…it has made me who I am: a true bulldozer.! Long live Dee, the HOH, and heavy metal forever.

• First off, Dee, I love the show cuz nobody knows metal like you. HERE’S TO YA!! Being a drummer, I know how much drummers get cracked on all the time but we are the only thing keeping these guitarists in line. Since I was a kid, my favorite drummer has always been Cozy Powell. This guy has rocked with the best of them, from Rainbow to Whitesnake and even doing an album with Emerson and Lake (I forgot their first names-must be having a drummer moment). Anyway, this guy was a pioneer who I’m not sure ever really got the recognition he truly deserves. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years ago, so the only way to hear him rip it up is on my mp3 player or crankin’ up the HOH. Could you please play “All Night Long” from Rainbow or any tune featuring Cozy to help us remember this monster on the drum kit? Rock on, Dee!!!
