Having met you in person, I know that I’m not alone when I say that you’re one of the more unassuming, humble guys from the rock world, which can’t be said for everyone in your business, including people far less successful than you. Bret! Just thogut I’d share a memeory with you. Almost twenty years ago I was taking care of my dad after a stroke in very rural part of Oregon. My nephew and his family lived in the next town over he was playing drums in a little country band that was performing at the county fair. I went to see them play and as my nephew and I had plaid together for years I was asked to sit in and do a number with the band. We did “Ev’ry Rose” and did it so well they asked me to do another song so we went right into “Somthing to Belive In” and we toatlly rocked both of them. I’ve done opening acoustic gigs for bar bands and open mic nights for years and any time I go into “Every Rose” the crowd always digs it. Let people say what they will about the 80′s. It was great time and you and the boys in Poison helped make it fun. As one musician and song writer to another, I wish you all the best, and send a mental hug out to you and your lovely daughters. I’ve just ended my work week with a swing shift ending at midnight. So as I write this I raise a frosty pint of amber ale to you with a sincere wish that you are well back with us all soon.

I also have diabetes and so I never knew that it would be so bad if put in the hospital. Bret, I was so pumped when your show was announced for Columbus, OH on May 30th and I gathered up the troops for a soon to be fun night out. Then the back to back episodes were just devastating to hear. I immediately said a prayer and told the Lord that you still have so many smiles to put on so many faces that we need you around for a long time to come. I know the Lord is listening. I have been to every Poison show in Columbus since you guys started touring again and everyone that goes with me consistently says it’s one of the funnest shows they have ever been too, which is why I never miss them. I saw Poison twice in the 80s and I will say they were 2 of the most enjoyable & fun shows I’ve seen. I caught a lot of flack because while I was head bangin’ w/ Pantera when they were a bar band, I was also jamming w/ Poison.

Still as loyal as the first day. Just want you to get better soon:) I lost my mom at the age of 54 from a heart attack due to complications from her diabetes. I know the toll this disease can take on someone and their families. i already sent you a good well wish but im having problems of my own. i just got out of the hospital because my sugar went up to 301 from a sinus infection! is that normal for your sugar to go up that much when your sick? normally i can keep it between 140-180! it really scared me. well im sure you can find out how to get a hold of me and help me out if you want. get well soon and i hope your reunited with your family soon.
